ROBERT B. ALLEN (1914-1982) criss-crossed the state for 15 years as a roving reporter for The Oklahoman and Times, becoming one of the best-known personalities in Oklahoma journalism. Even after retirement in 1979, he continued to cover special assignments for the papers. Earlier in his career, he worked for the Cushing Daily Citizen, for papers in Texas and for the Norman Transcript. He was known as a newsman who kept fairness and accuracy as constant goals.
