ALFRED W. McLAUGHLIN (1921-2013) has been recognized as an outstanding photographer for many years. He joined Oklahoma Publishing Company in 1942 and worked there without stopping except for service in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. After his retirement as chief photographer, he has continued to work at the Oklahoman as a consultant. He won the title as National Women’s Page Photographer of the Year in 1966 and the National Picture Layout Award given by the J.C. Penney Company in 1968 as well as other awards.
