JACK BOWEN (1947- ) consistently sought to impact Oklahoma in positive ways through his journalistic skills ever since he moved here. Coming from Texas, he has been a news anchor on KOCO-TV, KWTV and KOKH Channel 25. Bowen has been involved in countless community activities and is known as one who has an ability to see the good in even the worst situation, who has a firm commitment to his profession and who has a passion for the well-being of children.
Selection Process
Honorees are selected by a committee comprised of hall of fame members, including its director, and distinguished leaders in journalism. The Selection Committee considers all nominations, both new ones and those held over from previous years, before selecting the honorees.
The 2024 Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame nominee submission deadline is Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
