Robby Trammell

Inducted: 2015

ROBBY TRAMMELL (1952- ), news director for The Oklahoman and NewsOK.com, was editor of the papers at Seminole High School and Seminole Junior College. Earning his bachelor’s degree at UCO, he worked full time covering Edmond for The Oklahoman. He was reporter and managing editor of the Seminole Producer for 15 years and led The Oklahoman’s Tulsa bureau from 1987-1990. As an award-winning investigative reporter, he exposed Seminole County commissioners’ bid-rigging, opening a statewide federal inquiry and public corruption scandal. He also covered the secret indictment of an Oklahoma governor and the Oklahoma City bombing. He has a master’s at OU and is on the Oklahoma Press Association board.

How to Submit a Nomination

Selection Process

Honorees are selected by a committee comprised of hall of fame members, including its director, and distinguished leaders in journalism. The Selection Committee considers all nominations, both new ones and those held over from previous years, before selecting the honorees.

The 2022 Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame nominee submission deadline is Sunday, Ocober 31, 2021.
